FHS Art Gallery Opening- "Illuminating the Beauty and the Tragedy of Darfur"

On  April 2, FHS  students in Nancy Durst's  Advanced Art class exhibited their inspiring and breathtaking work of art representing Darfur’s beauty contrasted with the tragic genocide in the beautifully lit theater lobby thanks to a grant funded by F.E.F.  This event was a benefit for Fur Cultural Revival and United to End Genocide.

The spectacular Pihcintu Multicultural Chorus, directed by Con Fullam,  lent their voices to this occasion. The Malika Sudanese dancers  were back on the theater stage in Falmouth. Guests enjoyed viewing the artwork, mingling, meeting with the artists, sampling Sudanese food, and shopping in the marketplace.  Student musicians  performed light background music.

Dan Sullivan, Director of Policy and Government Relations and Gbolahan Lawal, Field and Grassroots Manager for United to End Genocide flew in  from Washington, DC for this event and gave a brief update on the current situation on Sudan.
