The annual community supper to benefit the Falmouth Food Pantry was held on Thursday, October 18th. Approximately 40 FHS students were there to support the efforts. Students worked in the kitchen and as servers.

Feedback from the leadership of the Falmouth Food Pantry was, "They were truly amazing. Whether they were serving drinks, waiting on tables, or doing yucky jobs in the kitchen, they were polite, cheerful, and even creative when things didn't go just exactly as planned. We could not have asked for better helpers, and the Falmouth Food Pantry will directly benefit from their efforts and community spirit."

On Thursday, October 25 in the cafeteria at Falmouth Elementary School,138 third grade students and 100 + FHS Service Club volunteers joined forces to create Jack-O-Lanterns for Camp Sunshine's Pumpkin Festival at LL Bean. The students learned that Camp Sunshine offers support to children with life-threatening illnesses and their families.

On Saturday, October 13 students enjoyed a hike up Bradbury Mt. to raise awareness and funds for United to End Genocide and the Fur Cultural Revival; the Darfur Community Center of Maine. This event was created and organized by Geneva Waite, FHS senior, one of the student artists who participated in The Beauty of Darfur, The Tragedy of Genocide art project last school year.

When we arrived at Bradbury Mt. the park ranger came out and wanted to shake the hand of the young woman who made this happen and tell her how proud he was of her.

El-Fadel Arbab, an educator, lead speaker for the Fur Cultural Revival, and a refugee from Darfur, came with us, along with another young man from Darfur, Sadik Adam. Sadik arrived in Maine just two months ago from a refugee camp in Jordan. El-Fadel and Sadikhad not experienced the beauty of Bradbury Mountain before. Sadig said he will keep the view from the top of Bradbury Mountain in his heart forever.
